ParticipantSomeone wrote about similar issue a while back. Personally I have not noticed or experienced this kind or rng behavior except for few times earlier in EA. Maybe it is just a personal curse from the rng gods or perhaps it is something triggered by specific game setup. I’d say try equiping better tohit chance weapons early game and slowly change em to whatever you like.

My test party average fatigue is 60-70 excluding archers, they had around 140. They are already in Lamellar and heavy Lamellar, one in coat of scales, one in heraldic mail. The recruits in mail shirt.The current playing party has 70-80 average equipped in mail and below.
The difference is made by difficulty level and played time.

ParticipantDoesn’t the flail deal more damage to armor besides bypassing shield’s bonus to defense?
Here is a ss with both flail and boar spear. The flail can do more damage to armor, and bypasses shield and every attack has a +10% tohit head. On the other hand the spear has a +20% tohit only but has the highly effective spearwall.

Launched game from steam, crashed with error. At the same moment steam was refreshing other game. Second time launched normaly, but this time steam was not updating other games.Sky
ParticipantWhy would there be a need to rework the lore? Are there no orcs now? Or no werevolves? The half orcs are a commonly used asset of the fantasy genre, just as werevolves are. The lore argument is silly. Sure there would be a need for distinguishing art. But as far as mechanics it would need only minor adjustments.
But probably you right, still would be a nice touch.

ParticipantPerhaps it would be better to represent the positive morale some other way than a flag. The blue flag is just a representation not an actual flag.

ParticipantWhen the game is installed it creates two directories. One is the game data, where your exe file is. The other one is the documentation data with save games and the log.html . When you chose the install directory you chose the game data installation folder, while the documentation folder is created automaticaly here C:\ProgramData\Overhype Studios\Battle Brothers . That is where the log file can be found.

ParticipantI’d argue the current AI makes the experience of chasing them down less immersive, not more. What usually happens isn’t a case of hit and run; instead, the bandit runs away at tops speed, not taking a shot, to the edge of the map and then only finally stops moving and starts shooting anyway. If the bandit took a quick shot and then moved instead, we don’t have to be reminded that there is an artificial boundary to the battlefield.

Unnecessary running around when the battle is already over is pointless and sometimes frustrating in forests. If the archer would not run to the battle border but instead simply surrender or run away ending the battle but not giving loot or exp, it still would be fine imo.

1) Yep, don’t see why that could not be a member. A rare one with negative effects on others. Or a half breed. There are variations.
2) Even this is fine. We are mercenaries not inquizition, anything that helps makes us stronger. Should be rare and bound by location to werevolves territory.
3) Not so sure about these. Don’t see how a battlemage could fit in this world. Maybe, like very maybe some support merlin like mage like could be a thing, with low magical ability. The necromancer, well that could be made an entire game mode like in KeeperRL when you play as the “bad guy”. Would not require much work and would be a splendid addition different to the core game. Perhaps making the evil camps to be friendly while the human settlements enemy. It would open up a lot of possibilities. Would even work as an Evil expansion tho would need much more work to validate a full expansion.
4) This is a question I was waiting with till the roadmap is announced, but hey where are the animals. It was quite common to have dogs to fight with, there were hunting dogs aswell, dog armors. Where are the wild animals? How about some low antasy beasts like giant spiders, plague rats, etc. Some could be made part of the groups like dogs, or wolves for the orcs. Some could be different mini factions like spiders. But all of them could be part of random events. Even mythical creatures like giants or ogres. A random even in the forest or hills finding a spider nest and the choise to try and gather spider silk, or while exploring a nearby cave running into a bear family. There is a lot of opportunity to work with all the other living things other than humans orcs and undead.
