DanubianParticipantThe only thing ruining nimble build is the silly and stupid randomized stats on level up. :(
DanubianParticipantPerfectly. Very happy for you. Should be we play different games. However – it does not matter.
I dont know what to tell you. The only way you can underestimate the power of nimble build is if you never tried it yourself. Beating 12 orc warriors is not impossible, you just need to make a highly specialized party.
If you dont believe me find the Orc Warrior thread i made some time ago and in it people posted screenshots of beating orc warriors (i think meeky beat ~20 of them).
DanubianParticipant…
If youre lucky with melee defense rolls on level ups youll get insane powerful melee bros that can easily take on Orc Warriors
…Really?
Why did you deceive a novice?
Everyone knows that 12 orc warriors сan’t wins without a loss of any of even the smart-ass build
Exactly as 30 heavy skeletons spread build 6 + 6 without a chance.
This game is wonderful that you can invent whatever build and then meet the enemy who wanted to sneeze on your build, especially if you are more unlucky a couple of times with rnd.
We are waiting for the tactical and perks patch. Now “late game” sad. So opponents are divided into those which are easy to have you and those that you have easySry but i have defeated 12 orc warriors with 6+6 nimble build at max level without losing anyone.
Once you have melee fighters that orc warriors cant reliably hit (the whole point of nimble) and once you have a second line archers that can switch to 2 handed 2 tiles ranged weapons, orc warriors become a non issue really.
Same thing with skellies. You just switch from crossbows to melee weapons and you have 12 capable melee fighters.
Also i see you keep talking about “rnd” is that supposed to be Random Number Generation or something else?
DanubianParticipant6 melees 6 archers
6 archers go utility until you pick -50% fatigue for armors (take bags take that other one and take the one that lowers cost for bad terrain movement). After you pick -50% fatigue switch to defense, pick whatever you want until you get to nimble, after that you can do w/e you want youve got yourself extremely good bros.
6 melees go defense until they hit nimble fighter, after nimble you can do w/e you want, i prefer to go utility and pick the same path as archers for that -50% fatigue for armors perk.If youre lucky with melee defense rolls on level ups youll get insane powerful melee bros that can easily take on Orc Warriors
With my build youll also get access to that perk that removes negative morale effects (good for a number of enemies)There is nothing as satisfying as watching vampires go for your archers, only to have archers switch to a melee weapon and become basically immortal due to nimble and good armors.
DanubianParticipantI dont know. I enjoy fighting raiders both because they are significantly tougher than thugs and because they drop quite useful items.
I also dont feel like i ever had any problems fighting them. Maybe youre just too low level?
DanubianParticipantTovarish, Honestly, I do not care deep in conspiracy theories as well as on the theory that they are not
I have long are changed to look at this problem from another angle. If rnd battle mechanics in our game is such disputes and along with negative emotions (even if in the opinion of others undeserved) may be better this rnd mechanics ( even though it had been 100 times “honest”) to change?
I agree with your logic that if something creates strong emotions its probably not the best design, however, in this particular case the problem is the fact that i dont know what you could replace RNG with. If you remove to hit % it would be either “yes” or “no” (what would that even be based on?).
DanubianParticipanthis is a great article. Only it does not explain the fact that the real (not the one that shows, but a real chance) expose the difficulty 1 and of 3 – is a completely different chances to hit, as well as the fact that in most cases, if the blow can kill the enemy in a dangerous situation, it will leave him 1 XP. Bias? If.
Tovarish, if i understand you correctly, i havent observed any difference between 80% hit chance on EVEN and on CHALLENGING.
You may be correct, but it could also be another example of confirmation bias.
There is literally the same thing in a game called World of Tanks, where numerous (im talking hundreds) of people believe that there is a secret mechanic that makes tanks on very low HP bounce shells in order for them to survive longer and do more damage. While its possible that there is indeed some secret mechanic in game, it is faaaaaaaaaar more likely that people simply pay more attention to times when they were shooting at an enemy with 4% hp and bounced them because thats how human brain works, its selective, it doesnt do well with statistics and long strains of numbers.
DanubianParticipantThis is exactly why i started this thread…
The contract difficulty scalding is insane.
It makes game more difficult by making these missions impossible to complete at any efficient rate, and instead it makes me wander aimlessly until i can find a mission i can finish without losing key weapons or a number of brothers (which is not a sustainable strategy).
DanubianParticipantand those groups have chiefs with name?
I don’t like to fight in any campaign always against “Prun” the orc chieftain and his minions ;DWell there is probably a list of names that is used to generate random chieftains, so you are bound to run into same name chieftain sooner or later. Ive dont at least 40 “kill orcs” missions since the big update, and i dont remember running into a single chieftain. Those probably start appearing at higher renown or something.
DanubianParticipantYes that should be the case, i dont think youll get the same enemies, as in literally the very same groups.
DanubianParticipantThere is a mini series that you get when you start, and that stuff is the same, but really all it does is pushes you toward doing what you should be doing and then gives you some money, which is good.
After that you have the normal contracts, which can be split into several types, each type having several variations? So a type of contract, lets say, “kill orcs”, but if you go to 2 different cities and take that same contract, the text (localization) will be different, so if you like to read walls of senseless texts, theres flavor value in there.
To my knowledge there are no purely proceduraly generated contracts, its all pre coded.
DanubianParticipantWhat i hate is when 4 of my crossbowmen miss 78% hit 4 times in a row – then 2 enemy guys put 2 bolts into 2 of my guys like nothing.
But what can you do? Sometimes you kill them with 1 bolt, sometimes you dont.
In any case if youre planning on farming bandits youll need dedicated anti crossbowmen, and even then, 99% of the time, because of wonderful random placement, youll still have to take at least 1 turn of worth of their shots. You best defense is to level up and get better gear.
DanubianParticipantIs it just me or do these lakes look a bit wrong? I mean sorta out of place, like their coloring is wrong or something? To me they look more like slime glued over the ground than bodies of water, maybe they need more details, something to allude 3d shape? I dont know.

Also ive had cases where they were highly repetitive, there appears to be only one sample and when they spawn close by it looks weird.
DanubianParticipantWell, I’m going to try out your army setup and see how it works for me. The third iteration of the Lucky Bastards is due for retirement anyway. Methinks the Black Vipers would be a good name for an army of nimble warriors.
Yo meeky what one handed weapons do you prefer?
I recently kinda decided that maces are the best (not the lower tier stuff, but the military grade ones). I would give noble swords to archers vs like vampires and possibly other hard-to-hit stuff…
I used to think that this pick thingie whatever it was called, the one with 200 armor effectiveness was great, but i dont know any more, after having used it extensively i kinda get the feeling it may be just too specialized (sure id like to have a few vs orc warriors?).
