Let’s Play – Worldmap Update, Episode 1

Here we go again! In anticipation of the big update hitting next Monday, the 29th, our very own Jaysen starts a brand new Let’s Play series with developer commentary to explain all the new additions and changes to the game. You can expect the second episode to hit later this week. Also, spoiler warning.

We’ll have a written summary of all the new things together with the update itself.

Preview Twitch Stream with ZiggyD

Youtuber and Streamer ZiggyD will do an exclusive preview live stream of the update. Depending on where you’re at, it’ll be on Friday the 26th at 7:00pm PST, or Saturday the 27th at 3:00am GMT / 2:00pm AEDT.

At least one of us developers will be hanging around in the Twitch chat as well, so if you want to talk to us or ask us anything about the game, this is a great opportunity. You can find ZiggyD’s Twitch channel here: http://www.twitch.tv/ziggydlive

Important Reminder

The upcoming update will break savegames! If you want to keep playing your current campaign you should disable automatic updates on Steam for Battle Brothers!

I noticed some peasants wandering around on the map, can interact with them in anyway? Like mugging them or helping them to the next town or something? Also I like the new introduction, seems like it would help the newer players out a good bit although it may be good to emphasize having a shields over better weapons, which is what I learned the hard way when I started playing this. :P

The game needs “Skip tutorial” option right at the beginning so that those who know the ropes can skip it and get to the game proper without wasting time. And if it hurts the story, then, at least for me, the scenario where you simply “spared enough money” to fund your own merc company was beautiful and to the point.

I’m going to play your game a lot, and playing it ironman means having to restart it quite often. I don’t want to be forced to get through the same tutorial everytime.

Hi Jaysen! Thanks for the video…. 1 typo noted in the loading screen in the tutorial in this video :) – “mean” should be “men” :p

3 hits in the critical moment with probability 11- 26%, Jaуsen so you just cheat! Joke :)
Seriously – until the battle system is still far too rnd for serious tactics. But when I see what you have done an amazing job with the strategic map – that I have reason to hope, and to the further development of the beautiful game.

Wow, I really haven’t played this game for awhile. The hit chance in the early game seems really low, lol. Will have to reacquaint myself once the update is in.

You’ve done good work with the beginning scenario to ease in new players. It isn’t totally clear to eeryone that saying “Nope, not gonna do this mission” means skip tutorial, so just put that in brackets next to the choice.

For lack of something else to say, “Also, wow!” It’s really coming together.

Have you considered an easier Easy Mode? Right now you get some bonus supplies at the beginning, but the gameplay is unchanged. Perhaps a few tweaks like reduced Fatigue costs for attacks and reduced enemy chance to hit could be implemented for the non-Hardcore.

The difficulty of contracts now also scales with difficulty level, with less and easier opponents to face on ‘Even’ difficulty.
