We’re excited to announce that after almost 2 years in Early Access, Battle Brothers will release in full on March 24, 2017.
Creating this game together with you has been a long and rewarding adventure, and we’re very happy with what the game has grown to become. Enjoy the new trailer and feature list of the upcoming 1.0 release.
Features
- Manage a medieval mercenary company in a procedurally generated open world.
- Fight complex turn-based tactical battles with historical equipment and brutal injuries.
- Permadeath. All characters that die in combat will stay dead – unless they return as the undead.
- All characters come with their own background stories and traits. Want a stuttering ratcatcher, a greedy witch hunter or a drunkard disowned noble?
- Character development without a restrictive class-system. Each character gains experience through combat, can level up and acquire powerful perks.
- Equipment that matters. Different weapons grant unique skills – split shields with axes, stun enemies with maces, form a spearwall with spears or crush armor with a warhammer.
- Diverse enemy roster. All enemies have unique equipment, skills and AI behavior.
- A dynamic event system with atmospheric encounters and tough decisions outside of combat.
- Three late game crises – a war between noble houses, a greenskin invasion and an undead scourge – add a looming threat.
- Two full hours of orchestral soundtrack.
- 70 Steam Achievements
With the finished game releasing, the Early Access discount of the last two years will also be lifted. Within the next two weeks, the price of Battle Brothers will be raised to 27.99€, 29.99$ or your local equivalent. If you want to get the game while it’s still discounted, then better grab it now!
I sincerely wish you good sales. Because then you will have a desire, an incentive and a financial opportunity to realize in this game a lot of great ideas that are not included in the game now for various reasons.
+1 buddy!
Further improvement of the game will be?
Congrats!
Looks like I was spot on regarding the release date. =)
Hope the sales number are good enough for you guys to work on DLC right away.
I’m happy to read that! I hope, like RusBear you sell a lot of copies. Can’t wait to see more content as an expansion, or new games and adventures.
You did a good job listening to us and working hard. Best wishes!
Was für ein Geschenk :) am 24.03 hab ich Geburtstag. Nach 100 Stunden Testen endlich das fertige Game Zocken.
will you guys add something small on steam (like another unic helmet or whatever else that is not big deal) just to let people, which already have the game, to support you more?
It’s been an honour, sirs! Thank you for one of the best games I’ve played recently!
Honestly i wish you guys all the best.
I am however a bit sad about the end direction the game took. I love the atmosphere and the art, i love the combat, and most of everything else is ok, but i cant help but feel that the game could have been much better if only you made it a bit more sandboxy in a way Mount & Blade is.
And obviously the complete lack of modding support is just… This is 2017, no excuses. I really hope we get at least that in the future. It will increase the game’s longevity many times.
Thank you for making this game, cheers and best of luck!
+1 for this, mod support would really open up a lot of possibilities for this game.
Congrats!
Any plans for Linux support with the final release? Or at least in the near future?
Thank you for this great game anyway.
I’m also very interested :) And thank you for amazing game!
Hey guys, good luck on the launch in 1 week’s time!
I know everyone’s probably busy bug hunting and living off coffee but this game REALLY needs some promotion. There’s hardly been any news about this game’s impending release on gaming sites, even ones dedicated to turn based combat, nor has any of the major youtube gaming channels covered the game in depth. BB is already a niche game priced at the higher end of the indie game category so I don’t expect being on steam’s new release page gonna do much.
It wouldn’t be the first time a good product failed because no enough people know about so please, for the sake of future expansion packs, take a break from bug hunting and do some promotion! Non-critical bugs can be patched later but a lost sale don’t usually come back (at least at full price) given just how many games are being released daily.
I have been playing the game for more then 400 days overall, game is great and it has lots of potential, especially if developers will consider future modding possibilities, however, there has to be some way to rebuild razed cities, game in current state (cities being permanently wiped out) is unplayable for a long run, also maps should be bigger!
Anxiously awaiting the release of v1.0 and hopefully the DRM free build thereafter.
What is the meaning of this roaming around the land with no purpose? I have been playing pre-release and except fighting and hard financials I couldn’t find some higher goals of the game. You should introduce clan fighting between banner houses with main goal to conquer entire land. Is something like his a part of the final game release?
You must give us mod editor!
