This week we start a new Let’s Play series with a preview version of the upcoming final update for Battle Brothers. Watch Jaysen race through the early game and point out new things in these first two episodes.
We’ll be releasing new episodes every few days, so check back to see more new features in action. The update will be released to the beta branch of the game for you to play later this month.
Wow, can’t wait for this update, I’m checking this site everyday because of it!
I want to play the final update too! >.< Or at least the full feature release.
Thank you, Jaysen. Very interesting. One thing : both times at the start of the battle on the loadscreen was Orc. Of course, players need to know their most feared enemy in the face, but it seems to me that we infringe upon the rights of other enemies). May be better that it was a more general plan like at the first screen of scripted battle with Hogarth or something like main pictures of this video.
@ c. 33:00 – “no good line of sight”, but no red arrow appeared on your guy in melee with the shielded thug. I don’t get why that particular alignment seems to be regarded as a clear line of sight …
+1
You know, you could just give us all the episodes already :) It’s not like you have a youtube career that requires regular content or anything, just show us all of it! :D
A small request, but would it be possible if players could customize their leaders’ look since they will be seeing what I presume to be the leader of the mercenary leader when in the world map?
Small things, Pay to rest in the Tavern, accelerates time.
Buying Beer for your company should also move time forward by 1-2 hours per time.
i may be too late but it would be quite convenient if one could use caravans for travelling faster as well, make it expensive for us but grant us the possibility. caravans would have to be available more frequently. as to mountains / hills….you could implement some sort of scouts at the foot of the hill who make journeys across mountains much faster. another nice thing would be a litte exploration on the high seas with a chartered boat with which you could find hidden islands with bigass foes and extraordinary treasure….but then you could also take that for the sequel / addon of the game which i hope you will design and develop in the future. I have been playing a lot of the available RTS / old school RPG-Games since my childhood back in the late 80s and in the 90s and you have nailed it Guys. Lords of Xulima was the only other game for the last 10-15 years which really stirred my blood as to combination of playability, exite and most of all atmosphere like “Battle Brothers” does right now for me. Chapeau and don’t loose your creativity and authenticity.
I totally agree and I hope that studio will continue work on developing new features in some sort of addons/updates after the official release. This game can become much more with more time and additional budget. Keep it up guys!
This update looks amazing and fixed all the small little things I disliked in the game. Time speed up, late game and state of cities are awesome additions and it looks great. Really enjoy this series and keep up the good work:)
It’s 14 Feb already, guys! We want a new build release – or at least it’s day of arrival.
Awesome !! over 10.000 YouTube views (Part 1) in 5 Days !! :)
No more sergant aura ? Plus 1 new( looks like old) skill detected.
Well spotted. I guess the “captain” will come about only as part of an “Ambition” now. It looks like the new/old perk could be something like Weaponmaster (maybe an across-the-board reduction in the fatigue cost of weapon/equipment skills, but without any weapon-specific bonuses)? I’d certainly make extensive use of that …
Will the battlefield objects and treasure hunts with unique items (with special powers) still make it into the final game or were they scrubbed?
3rd Ep.

First of all I`d like to say that I can`t wait for the “final” update :3. Tho I really hope its not going to be the last for the project, as in my view the core idea and mechanics are great, also that it could serve as a basis for many other iterations or expansions of battle brothers… Just a few examples I have thought of: eastern expansion, introducing a new culture of humans, possibly more focused on trading, it could even play from the perspective of a caravan. Or an expansion where one would play from the perspective of a lord or the head of a religious organization, I do realize these would take adding countless new features, but the base being as solid as it is, I can imagine how popular these addition would be.
