Battle Brothers finally graduated from Early Access and was released a finished game last Friday, one week ago. It’s been a very busy week for us, but also a satisfying one, as the game was received very favorably and is still performing decently in terms of sales.
Our focus for the next few weeks is finishing the Art & Lore Book for the Supporter Edition, and taking care of any remaining bugs and technical issues that are coming to light now that so many more people are playing the game at once. We’ll all be taking a break from development later in April to recharge our batteries, as working on the game for so long has been taxing for everyone, and really, we could all use a vacation.
And then? Based on how the game has performed so far, and will continue to perform in the coming weeks, we’ll determine if and how we can continue to develop Battle Brothers, both with free updates for everyone, and a potential sizable DLC that would add new content and mechanics. At the same time, we’ll also determine whether adding support for different languages, and some kind of modding, is viable. We’ll keep you updated!
Free updates!!! OMG I hoe you can do it. And obviously, I’d like to see a new expansion (like more that naming than DLC :P)
You rock. Fistbro
Any chance for getting tools to work with .cnut files if you decide its not worth to work with the game?
Hey guys,
First of all, thank you very much for the great effort and simply: good job!
I think to enable modding would be a huge step into the right direction. Just my few cents ;)
Great Game, rly love it! but PLZ, PLZ German Language! I will party hard;)
I hope the sales are good! The game has shaped out much better than I expected and I’m very pleased.
Rest for a while. No one devs team deserved it more than you )
No mod support, no buy
Indeed!
Please release the game on GOG :)
Congratz to you guys for your success, you’ve earned it!
I hope you make enough money to keep working on BB – it really is an amazing game! :)
A paide DLC is no problem – we need it !
Hope modding makes it in sooner rather than later, sandbox games like this benefit so much from it.
Take Rimworld as an example, the game isn’t even released yet and the time between content patches is very long, yet the community keeps itself bustling with activity by adding new content and systems to the game themselves.
Sins of a Solar Empire is also extremely relevant because of its Star Trek/Star Wars mods, there’s no other games like that for people who enjoy those franchises.
This.
Really hope a Mac version is coming soon!
Yes, a Mac version is what I am hoping for too.
And a linux one too, please
Good job guys, you really have a wonderfull game on your hands (and ours) I do hope you will continue supporting it with DLC expansions and what have you :)
Modding will benefit this game greatly. So many things that can fit well in Battle Brothers game.

Would love a MAC release! I know its not super easy to push out for other platforms but WOULD LOVE IT!
My only BIG issue that should be fix asap it’s city/town destruction, it’s a game mechanic that constrain sandbox gameplay and potencially “ruin” the game map, and therefore, the game itself.
Please, give us at least a little tiny update before your “vacations” to choose only noble wars crisis.
Modding is probably the best thing Overhype could do for their game. The existence of Long War kept XCOM community alive for XCOM 2, and Long War 2 is keeping XCOM 2 fun and fresh years after release.
would love to play the mobile version if possible :D
I agree with MgAquiles in that the destruction of cities without being able to bring them back is a game destroying mechanic. It also seems strange to me that the noble houses and civilians would have no desire to rebuild a city after being destroyed, or at least settle somewhere else although that seems like it would be harder to code.
I love playing sandbox and I am currently in a game where I will be forced to retire due to settlement destruction, the land is becoming barren and void of human life. Perhaps it is my fault for going with a spaced out map, but it still seems counter-intuitive to simply let a settlement be destroyed with no possible fix.
Other than that, this is a fantastic game and I love it. I recommend it to all friends/gamers due to its great attention to detail in tactical battle. Great job guys, thank you for the wonderful work and enjoy your deserved vacations :)
Plisss Android version and pt subs are great!
The game is great and you should be proud. Hopefully sales are good :-)
+1 to Vyufta and MgAquiles
Please comment on the world ruining before your vacation. I’d rather wait for the solution than start my campaign in a doomed map. Thx!
Multtttiiplayer (the Fallen Hero screams as he plunges his cleaver into the last standing Battle Brother)
Please PLEASE make injury effect on enemy during battle readable.
Hope future update will finally put all those food types to good use or at least spawn more positive events if you are trekking around with a king’s feast.
Love the game and bought it from Steam when it came out. It was definitely on my wishlist. I agreed that the priority should have the modding implemented as soon as possible and getting a mac version in to roll in more cash. Again, love the game and cheers!
I’ve been playing this game since Early Access and I was astonished from the beginning with your representation of the medieval world! Not the one you would meet in 9 out of 10 games out there, but the harsh, bloody, ugly and unfair place that it used to be for our ancestors.
The attention to detail that I can see in each piece of image, picture, gameplay element and sound is amazing. My gratitude to the passionate developers of the game who really listen to the community, manage to quickly implement new features and squish bugs like a trained party would a group of werewolves :)
The game’s feeling of realism couldn’t be complete without the event texts which appear just when it has to and catch you off-guard with the emotions behind them. Well done, man, whoever you are, you made me roleplay in my head the story of the old swordmaster or the Rise of the Ancient Legions many times on the way to work!
I do not buy a lot of games but when I do, I usually do for a reason and I will get any DLC that is related to this one, however it frustrates me at times. Thank you for the effort!
P.S. In the future releases, I think modding support would do great things to your game. I would also like to see even more interractions between the different members of your party and scripted events which would make the game feel even more alive (maybe an option for single members of your warband to retire peacefully to their home or for some other job and picking them up when in greater need). As well as cavalry (quite expensive and situational, of course), negotiations methods with the monsters fractions and territories for them which may include lairs for boss monsters and whatnot.
I love pretty much everything about this game, which I’ve now finally finished in Ironman. I’ve been trying every strategy game I could find for the last 30 years, and this feels like the best in its class. It’s clean, simple, and constantly feels like a gripping high-stakes experience. In a world of dumbed-down play, this game respects player intelligence and doesn’t go easy on you. Winning (only after the orcs trashed a third of my map) felt like a major accomplishment.
Don’t change a thing in the current release, just start working on a sequel.
The only new feature I want is a hall of fame, where I can see the final scores of all my past games.
